in search of lost time

In this series, I explored the freedom and possibilities of merging drawing and painting together , utilizing a variety of media (charcoal, graphite, pastel, plaster,...), as well as various techniques (scraping/scratching, scribbles, overlapping colorwash, collage...). While the name of this series was taken from a novel by one of my favorite authors, Marcel Proust, the color palette as well as the marks and shapes were drawn from the natural landscape and historical architecture of the small French village where I currently reside in.
